Andy is an award-winning lighting designer working in theatre, circus, community and educational projects.
He trained in sound and lighting engineering at the University of Derby and has an MA in lighting design and theatre-making from Central School of Speech and Drama.

He designed regularly for The National Centre for Circus Arts (formerly Circus Space), has toured extensively with Propeller, Frantic Assembly, The National Theatre of Scotland and Spymonkey, and worked on La Clique and La Soiree at The Roundhouse and in the West End. In 2021 and early 2022 Andy was a lighting design associate for the WonderJunkie / 59 Productions project Kan Yama Kan in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; in 2020/21 he was a lighting design associate for ZooNation's Message in a Bottle, produced by Sadler's Wells and Universal Music; and in the summer of 2018 he was a lighting design associate for Spiegelworld's production We Are Here at La Mama, New York City.
As an arts and heritage project manager, Andy worked with Bedford Creative Arts on their artist-led enquiry into Bedford's historic airship construction industry - Airship Dreams. He also recently managed the Heritage Lottery Funded project Stories From The Gordon Craig storiesfromthegordoncraig.org.uk after having recently completed the Who is Gordon Craig? project www.edwardgordoncraig.co.uk
